Lac Jouarres Circular Route To Olonzac
From Eloi Merle front gate - go left - at roundabout take 1st exit and continue straight (Chemin de L'Ecluse Haute).
Continue straight do not follow road round to the right.
road now small lane with vines growing either side - past allotments -
cross the river (L'Ognon) and bear right
past couple gites on left side
When road splits go left
100m and you are at the canal du midi
over the road bridge next to the ecluse
turn right in front of the cottage and follow the canal path to Homps
walk under road bridge - restaurants and coffee places by the canal here if you would like a break.
ahead is a blue foot bridge over the canal - cross here.
Walk past the boats in port
straight down an olive tree lined path- follow round past a small lake across a foot bridge and straight to the Lac de Jouarres in front of you.
take a right - you can follow the lake path round which leads you to a cafe and the swimming area of the lake or take the road straight up by the side of the houses if you want to continue.
cross over the road on to a vine year track - follow this across the river and wind your way through the vines
on reaching the road turn right
Follow this road straight down into Olonzac
at end of walk/cycle path bear right down Boulevard Pasteur which completes the circut and you are returned to Eloi Merle.
