  4. 4 : km 0.09 - alt. 246 m - Little crow statue The Little Crow Mask statue was built to honor and salute the chief for his death also to reserve his memory in history. As he was picking berries with Wowinapa white settlers shot and killed Little Crow while his son fled. The chief was scalped and brought back to Hutchinson Minnesota where he was slaughtered. This statue is here to see through his eyes this is near the area Little Crow was born. The mask was created by Ed Archie Noisecat in 1994 and is located at the Minnehaha Falls. Built back in 1994 by a Native American artist the intentions of his work is to let the viewer look through the chief’s eyes and was also built in remembrance of Chief Little Crow. It is honored by remembering the history of our people and seeing what the Chief saw 150 years ago.
