Waypoints
- S/E : km 0 - alt. 246 m - Leave the Waggon and Horses via the front exit and turn right onto the main road. Turn right up Matley Lane and continue up the hill. - Start
- 2 : km 0.11 - alt. 246 m - Turn left onto Harrop Edge Road and continue up here for a while. You will pass a reservoir on your right and then pass by Winterbottom Farm and the Quarry will be on your left.
- 3 : km 1.14 - alt. 225 m - The road will turn left, but continue past this towards the Farm. When you reach a 'No-Entry' sign take the footpath on the left. Stick to the top of the field as you cross, you should have a stable on your right hand side
- 4 : km 1.35 - alt. 226 m - At the end of the field, turn left onto Edge Lane and continue down this path
- 5 : km 1.47 - alt. 241 m - Turn right through the gate and continue towards Paddock Farm. Once you have passed the farm the path will become stony, continue down here.
- 6 : km 1.94 - alt. 285 m - The lane will turn sharply to the right, but you should continue through the gap and follow the wall straight ahead. Continue down this path along the wall. You will pass a pylon on your right at which point there will be hints of a path which heads to the left, ignore this and continue over a stile and away from the woodland towards Matley Lane
- 7 : km 2.35 - alt. 247 m - Climb over the stile back onto Matley Lane, continue down onto Mottram road and back into the Waggon and Horses.
- S/E : km 2.43 - alt. 248 m - Congratulations! Enjoy your well deserved drink or dinner at the Waggon and Horses
