A lovely, steep in places, 9 mile stroll via The Monument, the very picturesque Marbury Mere and lovely sandstone
church, up Wirswall hill to take in the views, before heading back towards Wrenbury along the canal.
Cyclists can also use this route but replace the footpaths with the lanes shown. The towpath is possible to be cycled, but is grass and uneven.
Refreshments can be found on the way at The Swan Inn in Marbury, The Dusty Miller and Cotton in Wrenbury - which also has a local shop.
