London Road is part of the East West cycle corridor to create a continuous path from the Science Park to Cobham including new bridges from Highways England over the M25 and A3 for NMU’s (non motor vehicle users, i.e., cyclists, walkers, horse riders, prams and pogo stickers et al).
Unfortunatly SCC plans London Road to be one way during construction, and that upset car drivers.
This path upgraded to Greenway for cyclists and all non motorised traffic will provide a safe alternative.
However, its seclusion amd lack of lighting at night means the London Road cycle path is still needed
