Basic Information to consider and think of if you are looking to attend the walk!
I've been informed the council carpark(Opposite William Alvey school) is free on a Saturday all day. Better to park there and walk across the bridge to the leisure centre than have to pay 😀.
Please remember this isn't an organised event, it is a voluntary walk to encourage people to get out and about in a comfortable and motivational environment with like minded people.
Members of Jim's Gym will be doing many walks like this going forwards, they're great for getting some miles under foot as we will be tackling several marathons as the year goes on.
If you are attending please think about the following;
- Are you / whoever is attending with you able to walk a complete sub 3 miles ?
- The terrain is trail, with some small paved sections. Please wear suitable footwear, there will be slippery / puddled muddy areas if it has been raining.
- If you need water or snacks whilst walking please bring your own. I would suggest everyone takes a bottle of water and snacks for this event.
- Children will be in attendance, please be mindful of language and conversation around children.
- There will be dogs walking with us and undoubtedly on the route we will encounter dogs. If you are bringing your dog please ensure they are okay with children and other dogs.
- You are responsible for yourself and your children/pets on this voluntary walk.
- Please, if you wish to smoke whilst walking go to the back of the walking pack so that the smoke doesn't blow into walkers behind you.
- After the walk we will venture into town for a coffee / lunch / cake or whatever else. An area suited for dogs, so outside seating. This will be very weather dependent.
Most importantly, don't just think about attending the walk - do it! So many people talk about making changes, getting out more and being more active.
Stop talking about it and start doing it, this is the perfect opportunity!
Have a fantastic week, stay safe, look forward to the walk 😀
Forever hilarious,
Jimmy
