Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 3 m
  2. 1 : km 0.02 - alt. 3 m - Follow the obvious track to North Gare Breakwater.
  3. 2 : km 0.82 - alt. 5 m - Return back along the track for a 100 metres or so, then choose one of the vague tracks that head off northwards through the dunes.
  4. 3 : km 1.32 - alt. 6 m - Head northwards through the dunes on vague tracks. Drop down to the beach when it changes from stones to sand.
  5. 4 : km 1.92 - alt. 8 m - Head across the beach to Seaton Carew.
  6. 5 : km 3.31 - alt. 5 m - Go up on to the esplanade and follow it northwards to Hartlepool.
  7. 6 : km 6.08 - alt. 7 m - Head across to the masts of The Trincomalee at the Royal Navy Museum.
  8. 7 : km 7.31 - alt. 4 m - Follow the pavement of the A179 until reaching the roundabouts with the ornamental 'spheres'.
  9. 8 : km 8.17 - alt. 5 m - Follow the A1048 and then the A1049 into The Headland.
  10. 9 : km 10.68 - alt. 3 m - Follow the harbour wall to the small park (on the left).
  11. 10 : km 10.93 - alt. 5 m - Return to Seaton Snook using the same route used on the outward journey.
  12. 11 : km 11.84 - alt. 4 m - The England Coastal Path signs are a bit and miss, but The Headland is such a small area, that is almost impossible not to find the sea.
  13. S/E : km 22.16 - alt. 3 m
