2 : km 0.28 - alt. 85 m - 02Footbridge =>Cross footbridge to ascend slope up to disused railway line and follow it South.

4 : km 2.7 - alt. 88 m - 04Leave Track =>Just before bridge over the track take the steps on the North side (right) up to the canal and follow it briefly South before joining path around Canal Row cottages.

23 : km 8.97 - alt. 100 m - 23Crows Nest =>Opposite Crows Nest farm carefully cross Chorley Rd onto footpath as it crosses field and heads NE beside hedge
24 : km 9.26 - alt. 95 m - 24Pond Turn =>Continue on path as it bends North (left) beside small pond.
25 : km 9.63 - alt. 90 m - 25Pincroft Pond =>Take Pincroft Road East (left) as it passes between railway arches and fishing lake,
26 : km 10.04 - alt. 91 m - 26Huyton Road =>At junction turn SW (left) along Huyton Road.
E : km 10.11 - alt. 90 m - 27A6 =>All done. Recommended parking is appoximately 200m South (left) along Chorley Rd.

A circular walk starting from Adlington to briefly follow the bank of River Douglas before ascending onto disused rail track leading to Red Rock and onto School Lane with good 270 degree views over Winter Hill, Beacon and Billinge Fells. A series of footpaths and farm tracks cross farmland leading back to Adlington.

Adlington Hic Bibi Circular

Departure from Adlington (Lancashire)

This circular walk starts at Adlington to initially follow the Leeds Liverpool Canal before heading via Arley Wood to Worthington Lakes. The route then ascends over farmland to Hic Bibi Nature Reserve on the top of Coppull Hill giving extensive views over Winter Hall. The final section of the walk descends back to the canal.

Rivington Gardens Circular

Departure from Rivington (Lancashire)

A circular walk starting from Rivington Information Center before following the Eastern side of Rivington Reservoir to Liverpool Castle then gently ascending to the site of Rivington Japanese gardens. Descent is via Levers Bridge and Rivington Hall back to start.

Crook Standish Circular

Departure from Wigan (Greater Manchester)

Circular Walk starting from sports ground in Crook then North onto Birley Pond, Birley & Elnup Woods exiting over Mill Brook to gently ascend to Birch Walk. The route then follows the boundary of Standish Park before heading back to start via Giants Hall Farm and Standish Wood Lane. Good views of Beacon Park and Winter Hill ridges from high points.

Great Hill from White Coppice

Departure from Heapey (Lancashire)

The walk starts from White Coppice cricket ground and follows the clockwise circular route via Wheelton Moor, Tockholes Plantation and Great Hill.

Shevington Standish Circular

Departure from Shevington (Greater Manchester)

6m mile circular route starting from Shevington crossing Mill Brook into Elnup Wood, From here the route makes its way via Standish Park to cross Mill Brook and M6 motorway onto Shevington Vale. Having made its way around the vale the route heads back to start over Gathurst Golf course.
