Holzarté footbridge

A circuit a dozen or so kilometers long in a green area among forests, streams and waterfalls. And especially crossing the Holzarté bridge which is the headline event of this quite demanding hike. If it is too physically demanding, you can turn around once you have seen the bridge.
Kopako Harria from Lake Endara
A circular walk that passes over the summit of Kopako Harria and overlooks Lake Endara.
The Jaizkibel aerials from Our Lady of Guadalupe
The entire route follows the ridge of the Jaizkibel, with beautiful views on both sides.Not recommended during dove hunting season.
The Askar, then the Argandoita, via the thousand-year-old oak tree
A beautiful hike that takes us to the magnificent village of Urdax, then up twice to admire the surrounding peaks from which we can even see the ocean.Last but not least, the thousand-year-old oak tree is a sight to behold.
Otsondottiki from Urdax
This loop is known as SL-NA-15 Otsondottiki. It climbs from the Urdax monastery to the Otsondottiki Pass on a forestry route.
Otsondottiki means little Otsondo in Basque, the Col d'Otsondo (pass) being situated a little higher up.
The white and green markers are clearly visible and the route is unambiguous.
The route is not particularly difficult.
Guadalupe Chapel and the coastal path at the foot of Jaizkibel
Take advantage of a sunny day to picnic and enjoy this short family walk of about 8km. A bit of road with very little traffic, then a forest path, and then the descent to the ocean. You'll find coves, steep hills, sailing boats, cows, sheep and pottoks.Before or after your walk, don't forget to visit the chapel of Guadalupe and its view over the bay of Hendaye/Hondarribia and the mouth of the Bidassoa.
Adi ascent
The Adi overlooks the Urepel valley and the Quinto Real, which belonged to the kings of Navarre. The inhabitants paid a grazing fee corresponding to one-fifth of the herds, the quint.Currently reduced to 2,000 ha on the French side, but belonging to Spain, only the families of Saint-Étienne de Baïgorry have use of it. Herd owners pay a grazing fee (vacade) for each animal. This is why a fence marks the boundary of the Quinto Real.
Loop starting from San Martial hermitage
Walk from the San Martial hermitage with panoramic views on both sides of the border.To be avoided during the hunting season, as the path is lined with pigeon shoots.

Cap Figuier loop to Artzu Portua
This half-day loop follows the coast from Cap Figuier to Artzu Portua, offering beautiful views of the sea and rocky ledge.The outward journey uses the GR®121, which runs along the coast, while the return is via a path that follows the contour lines, and is therefore flat and without difficulty.

A beautiful loop from the charming village of Vera de Bidassoa with a magnificent view of La Rhune on the way up and a pleasant descent through the forest.
Pasaia Donibane
A beautiful loop on the southern tip of the Jaizkibel above Pasaia. The first part of the route passes through the town of Pasaia via charming narrow streets. The route then passes along a steep path and returns to the village along a narrow road.
Le Foz de Lumbier
The Foz de Lumbier is a gorge carved out of the mountain by the Irati River. Both ends are narrow, making it an exceptional nature reserve. The Foz can be traversed without difficulty via a path that follows the route of an old railroad line.
Alkurruntz from Col d'Otxondo
Beautiful ascent to an accessible summit offering 360° views of the sea and mountains.
Gorramendi and Gorramakil
Beautiful walk on the ridges between the Gorramendi and Gorramakil peaks, with a magnificent view of the Baztan valley and, on the other side, the Pyrenees.Not very difficult, it can be done with the whole family.
Munagirre summit and Oianleku Cromlech
Lovely walk with views of San Sebastian, the Basque coast, the Trois Couronnes, La Rhune and a visit to a remarkable cromlech site.
Peña del Fraile
A round trip takes you to the Peña del Fraile, from where you can enjoy a marvellous 360° view of the Bardena Negra, less well-known but less frequented than the Bardena Blanca. The path is relatively well marked, with numerous cairns along the way.
The Meazuri mine and its tunnels
Discovery of an old mine and access routes via numerous tunnels that had been dug into the mountain. All this in the forest of the Aiako Harria (Aia Mountains in Basque) nature park, also known as the Three Crowns.
Aitzondo waterfall from Meaka
Signposted loop on the SL-GI-1006 trail which passes at the foot of the Aitzondo waterfall and along the Irugurutzeta kilns.
Apart from the incline at the start and the staircase to follow, the rest of the hike is a pleasant, mostly shaded walk with no major difficulties.
The spectacle of the great waterfall is magnificent for those who manage to get close enough.

A short loop in the Bardenas desert
This short stroll will give you a complete and highly exotic overview of what the Bardenas desert has to offer in terms of difficulties and landscapes, and is sure to be an unforgettable experience.The desert is open from 8.00 a.m. until one hour before sunset.Depending on the bird nesting season, there is strictly no access to certain parts of the desert.
The "Chemin de la Forge" from Urdax
A leisurely hike through a charming village, forest and stream.
Three Crowns: Muganix - Irumugarrieta- Txurrumurru
A round trip to the first two summits of the Three Crowns, plus a third as a preamble.
For the less adventurous, the climb to Txurrumurru requires crossing a rocky bar that can be tricky.
Nevertheless, it's worth the effort to reach the narrow passage between two boulders that gives a view of Lake Endara.
Going to the last summit, Erroilbide, is much trickier and requires experience, which is why it is not mentioned in this itinerary.
The historic center of Fontarrabie
The typical, picturesque village of Fontarrabie is one of the region's finest examples of Basque-Spanish culture and architecture. With its facades of brightly-colored wood contrasting with the surrounding white, its pedestrian streets, ancient fortifications and cathedral, it's a Basque journey summed up in one town. Numerous cafés and "pintxos" bars line the route for a gastronomic break.
