This is the 6th section of the Millenium Way 100 miles from Hockley Heath to Meriden. This is the traditional centre of England and is also the centre of our long distance trail.
Hatton to Lapworth Railway Station, Rail Trails

This trail takes you from the station at Hatton who’s most notable landmark is the Hatton Locks – a lovely location to watch colourful narrowboats as they move through the flight of 21 locks, onto the Lapworth and Kingswood via the towpath of the Grand Union Canal. An easy five-mile amble following the towpath of the Grand Union Canal through some of Warwickshire’s finest countryside.
Claverdon to Hatton Railway Stations, Rail Trails

This short trail stakes you through gently rolling farmland, past small pockets of woodland and across the Grand Union Canal and its “stairway to heaven” flight of locks at Hatton.

This circular walk will take you through farmland and around the privately owned Mockley Wood, one of the larger woodlands in this part of Warwickshire. In the springtime, be sure to peer into the wood and see the unending, sweet smelling carpet of bluebells. Keep your eyes peeled for the rather incongruous rusting truck hidden in the undergrowth on the return leg - a local landmark!
Heronfield / Temple Balsall, Millenium Way

During the early part of the walk you will follow a short section of the Millennium Way along the Grand Union Canal and, after walking some delightful open, flat countryside, will rejoin it at Temple Balsall. Here you may wish to take a short detour to visit the church of St Mary at Temple Balsall which has connections with the Knights Templar. This is walk 32 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.
Dorridge to Lapworth Railway Stations, Rail Trails

Berkswell Railway Station, Rail Trails

This trail takes you through countryside and farmland to the historic village of Berkswell where you’ll spot several 16th and 17th century houses as well as the 16th century Bear Inn and Grade 1 listed, church of St. John the Baptist. Famous for its Norman crypt, it is considered amongst the finest in the country. Outside the church is Bercul’s Well legendarily used for full immersion baptisms as far back as the 8th century.
