Calvert Green walks

A gentle walk near Brill, including a nature reserve with lots of butterflies (in June and July) woods and a hill.

This is a circular walk, along footpaths, red ways and a canal towpath. The walking is easy and accessible year round. It is wheelchair friendly, although there is one incline at the beginning of the trail which could present problems for some manual wheelchair users.

Climb to the top of Chinnor Hill with fine views over the Vale of Aylesbury before following quiet rural paths and lanes to pretty Radnage. Return over Bledlow Ridge.

The Ridgeway the other way. The National Trail from NE to SW. This Stage 2 is the most undulating with several climbs in and out of valleys and is, therefore, the most strenuous part of The Ridgeway. The route climbs Coombe Hill, passes by Pulpit Hill fort and over Lodge Hill. Goes around Bledlow Great Wood near Chinnor to go along a disused railway and go underneath the M40. It goes along the bottom edge of the Chilterns scarp and passes Watlington Hill.

Circular walk from Wendover to the pub at Swan Bottom, across fields and through woods.

This section of the walk takes you from Wendover down to Buckmoor End (where there is a pit stop and possibly a bacon sarnie!) across in front of Chequers through the nature reserve and over to The Plough at Cadsden.

This circular walk goes through three SSSIs from urban Oxford. Starting from urban Cowley, walk up to the top of Shotover country park SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) for nature and views to the South West, then through Rock Edge SSSI, for Upper Jurassic limestone, and then through Lye Valley SSSI to experience nationally rare calcareous fen habitat from the last ice age.

This walk is about the treats that await you in and around Dancersend Nature Reserve. In spring bluebells, primroses and cowslips, in summer many species of butterflies and the Chiltern gentian, in autumn fungi and the trees with their colourful display and winter where the birds are easier to spot.

The walk starts at the car park for the Tree Cathedral on Livingstone Drive, Newlands - close to Gulliver's Theme Park and the David Lloyd Sports Centre.

This walk starts and ends at Willen Local Centre (parking). You travel northwards to Tongwell Lake, then westwards to the Grand Union Canal at Giffard Park. Much of the route is southwards alongside the canal until reaching Campbell Park. This delightful walk explores parts of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire using a section of the Millennium Way. The route starts from Middleton cheney and continues via Thenford, Upper Wardington and Chacombe back to the start.

This is the last section of the Millenium Way 100 miles from Chipping Warden to Middleton Cheney.

This is a delightful walk from Holmer Green (located between High Wycombe and Amersham) through Chilterns woodland, fields and tracks to Coleshill All Saints Church, where there are benches in the churchyard for a picnic. Return the same way.
