A gentle cycle ride exploring the villages to the south east of Horncastle – taking in the historic parkland of Scrivelsby – an ideal route to reintroduce you to cycling.

Follow the Bain Valley, cross Roman Roads and explore wide verge lined lanes before a strenuous ride up to the Bluestone Heath Road. Take your time – the views are worth it!

A beach walk from Boston to Wrangle. An alternative route to the coastal defence banks that provides a change to the marsh views. Open flat farmland, tiny hamlets, large churches and plenty of pubs along the way. Not strictly part of a coast path but this route roughly follows the coast of medieval times when Wrangle boasted the third largest harbour along this section of coastline.

This Lincolnshire walk is somewhat different in that walkers can do some route finding for themselves. This is because Chambers Farm Wood has several self-guided, waymarked routes that can be used to vary my preferred route described below. Part of the walk follows quiet country lanes and traverses typical Lincolnshire countryside.

The end of the walk is at Batemans Brewery where a worthy reward of some handsome ale can be purchased in this unique setting within the confines of an old windmill.

This walk links the quiet villages of Belchford and Scamblesby in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Enjoy grassy paths, a stream and some fine hilltop views. There are numerous springs nearby which first attracted Neolithic settlers to the area. Two streams converge here to form the source of the River Waring, which flows to Horncastle to join the River Bain.

This walk combines the history and wildlife of an ancient Wolds valley with the open space and stunning views of the Wolds and the coast, along with a visit to South Thoresby Warren Local Nature Reserve. You can also strike out into the Swaby valley or visit the small church of St. Leonard at Haugh.

This walk is useful when fields are waterlogged, mainly on quiet lanes. When we did this walk in autumn the sunflowers were spectacular.

Nice walk for when it is poor underfoot. Starting at great pub "Riverside Hotel", following River Glen by Spalding Golf course, crossing river at the lock to sea. Returns down quiet lanes to Surfleet.

This walk uses quiet country lanes with open vistas across agricultural fields to arrive at river glen by Surfleet Bank and the sea lock. Follows Macmillan Way through golf course and delightful river Glen. passing under the A16 and continues along river to crosses over river to return to village hall.
