Description of the route

Park in the car park along the greenway opposite the eco bike relay station on Rue Jean Jaurès in Ferrière-La-Grande.

(S/E) Turn left onto the greenway, go straight ahead, cross Rue du Lieutenant Boucly (D436) and continue on the greenway parallel to the Solre. Cross Rue de Morlut, follow the Carnoye stream and you will come out onto Rue de la Gare.

(1) Turn left and then quickly left again onto Rue du Moulin. Ignore the first right and follow the bend to the right to reach Place d'Obrechies. Go straight ahead, past the church and continue along Rue Grand Chemin. You will come to a fork at Les Quarante.

(2) Ignore the path on the right and continue to the crossroads with a central island.

(3) Turn right and, at the left-hand bend, follow the path opposite towards Trou de l'Enfer. At the end, turn left onto the small road (Chemin de Gard), walk alongside the woods on your left (Bois des Onze Bonniers), ignore the path on your left and you will come to a bend.

(4) Turn left, immediately pass a path on your right, go past the blockhouse, ignore a path on your left and follow the one on your right to the edge of the woods (terminus).

(5) Turn right and continue to the Cinq Chemins crossroads.

(6) Turn right onto theGRP®® Tour de l'Avesnois, ignore a path on the left and right to take the one almost opposite and continue to the Grande Rue (D80).

(7) Continue to the right and then immediately to the left (Ruelle Mangin) at the picnic table and head for Solrinnes church. Continue straight ahead up a flight of steps, then turn left onto the path to the Solre-le-Château road. Follow this road to the left until you reach Rue des Groseillers.

(8) Turn right and at the next fork, follow Rue du Calvaire to the left. You are now on theGRP®® and continue to Bois de Groez. Keep going until you reach the top of the hill, then start the descent and you will arrive at a crossroads.

(9) Continue straight ahead, cross the Écrevisse stream and continue along Chemin de la Roquette. Pass a fork on the right and reach a second intersection towards Les Garennes.

(10) At the Y junction, continue to the right downhill and take thefirst right. Pass the water treatment plant and continue straight ahead. You are now on thePR®. Ignore a path on the right, take the big left turn and ignore a second path on the right until you reach a four-way crossroads (D27).

(11) Cross Rue du Général de Gaulle and enter Lez-Fontaines. At the three-way junction, veer left and after the stream, turn right onto the greenway. Make a sharp right turn onto the greenway, cross two streets (Rue Léon Péron and Rue Scalier), then cross the Stordoir stream and stay on the greenway until you reach Rue du Général Leclerc at number 131.

(12) Continue straight ahead on the greenway and cross the Stordoir stream again. Cross Rue Potier and you will arrive at Rue de Dimont with a small car park.

(13) Stay on the greenway until the next crossroads.

(14) Cross the road (Route de Wattignies) and continue straight ahead on the greenway until you reach the next road (Rue du Stordoir).

(15) Cross it and continue straight ahead, passing between the house and the car park, until you reach Pont des Bêtes.

(16) Cross Route de Maubeuge and immediately turn left onto the greenway until you return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(1) Continue straight ahead along the greenway and return to the starting point via the same route (S/E).
