A circular around Ainsdale Nature reserve starting with the gentle woodland section before moving on to a trickier dry dune section due to a large number of paths crisscrossing the dunes, The final section is through the wet dune section where the path is clearly marked but ponds block the path during wet periods so improvisation or wellingtons might be necessary.
Shevington Standish Circular

6m mile circular route starting from Shevington crossing Mill Brook into Elnup Wood, From here the route makes its way via Standish Park to cross Mill Brook and M6 motorway onto Shevington Vale. Having made its way around the vale the route heads back to start over Gathurst Golf course.
Roby Mill Ashurst Beacon Circular

Crook Standish Circular

Circular Walk starting from sports ground in Crook then North onto Birley Pond, Birley & Elnup Woods exiting over Mill Brook to gently ascend to Birch Walk. The route then follows the boundary of Standish Park before heading back to start via Giants Hall Farm and Standish Wood Lane. Good views of Beacon Park and Winter Hill ridges from high points.
Lydiate
Departure from Lydiate (Liverpool City Region)
The walk starts from Bell's Lane in Lydiate and follows clockwise circular route via disused railway lane and canal towpath. A possible brief detour to St Catherine's Chapel and the oldest pub in Lancashire, Scotch Piper.
Rainford Linear Park Circular

Rainford Siding Lane Circular

Formby Dunes

The walk starts from Formby Village and follows an anticlockwise circular route via Formby Dunes, site of 'Lost Resort', Formby Beach, site of first Lifeboat station with a possible detour to 'Devils Hole'.
Maghull Circular

Orrell Winstanley Circular

Starting from Orrell Waterpark then follows lower slopes of Billinge Hill before ascending to Winstanley College and back to the waterpark. Good views over Mersey, Winter Hill and Cheshire hills.
⚠️ Apparently there is a problem with the route between waypoints (7) and (8). Partway along the footpath parallel to Chair Wood there are signs stating this is private land and there is no right of way. These signs are repeated at the other end of the path on Park Road and the gate giving access to Park Road is locked. If anyone could check and offer another alternative please?
Lunt Meadows Circular
Departure from Sefton (Liverpool City Region)
Walk starting from Lunt Meadows Nature reserve and crosses the River Alt to disused Cheshire Lines rail track. After following the rail track the route crosses open farmland to a short road section leading back to the nature reserve. The final part of the walk makes its way via the nature reserve ponds to start.

Ths Forest of Bowland offers some of the finest walking in Lancashire. However some of the moorland sections can be quite boggy after rain. A good sense of direction is required certainly during the first section of this walk. Refreshments are not available during this walk so make sure you take food and water.
