A bucolic and informative stroll in the back country of Nice.
The short tour of Mont Panard from Touët de l'Escarène station
A beautiful walk starting from the station in the charming village of Touët de l'Escarène around Mont Panard, mostly through undergrowth. After crossing the tracks of the Train des Merveilles, the route climbs up the left bank of the Ravin d'Estiou and winds clockwise around Mont Panard. Beautiful views of the Mercantour peaks, the rocks of Saint Sauveur and Mont Brec.
Big reverse loop in the Parc Départemental de l'Ubac Foran
Trace, in reverse, of the largest lap inside the Parc Départemental de l'Ubac Foran, in Menton. Following this route, you'll take the ascent, passing through shady areas and undergrowth with enough room for one person to pass, then a descent on a wide, sunny track.
Eze and Mont Bastide via the Frédéric Nietzsche trail

A loop starting from Eze Bord de Mer, climbing up to the village of Eze via the Frédéric Nietzsche trail, then ascending Mont Bastide via the David trail for a superb view of Cap Ferrat and the Nice hinterland.
Descend via the Savaric trail through the beautiful villas of Eze Bord de Mer.
Gilette and the Estéron gorges

Gilette and La Clue.
From the village of Gillette, perched on a rocky outcrop, this walk takes you to the medieval bridge of La Cerise (scenes from the film "The Hunchback" were shot here in 1997) and then winds through the Estéron gorges.
Cap Ferrat Coastline Circuit, French Riviera

This walk takes you around it’s beautiful coastal path, with stunning views out into the Mediterranean. You will pass countless sets of stone steps on your way round, tempting you down towards the turquoise waters of the peninsula’s many hidden coves and bays.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat Tower

A classic on the Marais coast, this coastal walk takes you around Pointe Sainte-Hospice and Cap-Ferrat. Ideal for a sunny day out of season.

Promenade des Anglais, Nice

This walk takes you along the entire length of the promenade in Nice, between the harbour and Parc Phoenix next to the airport. You will also explore Castle Hill Park (Parc de la Colline du Château), a 19 hectare maze of greenery perched high up above Nice old town, with many areas to be discovered including an impressive waterfall.
The four fortified structures of Authion

This area with its four fortifications located at high altitude was the scene of fierce fighting, both in 1793 when the French invaded the County of Nice, and in April 1945, during one of the last battles between the German army and the Allies. These stone and cement structures, bearing multiple cannon and gunshot marks, bear witness to the violence of these final confrontations.
Baou de Saint-Jeannet

An easy hike in spring or autumn.
At the top of the Baou, there is a magnificent view of the French Riviera with a very accurate orientation table to identify the points along the coast and the surrounding peaks.
Baous de la Gaude and Saint-Jeannet

A double loop in a landscape combining heath, karst plateau and numerous dry stone terraces.
The climb up the two baous offers exceptional views of the coastline from Cap Ferrat to Cap d'Antibes... not to mention the view of the hinterland from the Baou de Saint-Jeannet with the Saint-Barnabé plateau, the Cherion Massif and the peaks of the Mercantour between the Argentera and Mont Bégo.
Return via the Plateau du Baou, where you can discover two drystone shelters.
Baoux des Blancs et des Noirs via the chemin du Riou
This walk begins with a stroll along the peaceful Chemin du Riou, a balcony overlooking the Pays Vençois, then climbs up to the two cliff promontories, taking in a wide panorama from Nice to Théoule, and perhaps even a glimpse of Corsica!
Mont Ponset and Cime de Paranova

This is a beautiful circuit that allows you to discover the valleys of Gouitrous and Ponset, including the Lacs de Prals, Mont Ponset and the Cime de Paranova. You will see many chamois and marmots throughout the circuit.
Lac Autier

This round trip will give you a 600m elevation gain in 4 hours and allow you to enjoy this magnificent lake.

Tour of the Tête du Lac Autier

A beautiful loop in the Gordolasque valley that takes you close to five lakes, including the superb Lac Autier and Lac Niré. There are also some beautiful waterfalls, including the vast Cascade de l'Estrech. Numerous chamois can be seen throughout the hike. A few ibex and marmots can be spotted below the Lac de la Fous dam.
Mont Pepoiri, Petoumier and Lacs de Millefonts

This is a beautiful circuit that allows you to discover the Baus de la Frema and Mont Pétoumier with incredible views of the Argentera and Gélas massifs, then the Lacs de Millefonts with the final climb to Mont Pépoiri, which offers an extraordinary panorama of the entire Mercantour and the middle country.
Lauvet d'Ilonse from Col de la Sinne

A very fine walk in the middle country of the Alpes Maritimes, alternating between open views and coniferous forests. The 360° panorama from the Lauvet d'Ilonse is well worth the diversions: you can see the whole of the Mercantour and the main peaks of the mid-country.
