Circuit of the Three Passes in Bormes-les-Mimosas
Circuit overlooking the Var coast above Bormes-les-Mimosas.

A walk through the crests of the Maures forest.
A breathtaking landscape taking in the Mediterranean and the Alps.
Les Deuxièmes Borels in Hyères
A pretty loop with no particular difficulties, on tracks, among oak and arbutus trees in the Maures mountains.
The balconies of Cavalière
Park in the car park next to the town hall annex and the post office. A superb view and a good little climb, a bit too much tarmac for me. Very well signposted, it's a superb loop.
Pierrefeu and the Cabane des Gardes (GR51)
A hike looping around the Maures hills in the middle of cork oak forests.
Lush vegetation with beautiful views of East Toulon.
You take a portion of the GR51 called "The Balcony of the Mediterranean".
From Escalet to Cap Taillat
A beautiful walk along the coast on an easy trail in a protected area.
Be careful in rough seas at the start of the circuit, as there is a section at risk of flooding.
Summit of the Ermitage from the Chartreuse de la Verne
A short loop with superb views, to be done before or after visiting the charterhouse.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Constance
The beautiful view of the harbour from the village is very charming, but what can be said about the view from the top of Notre-Dame de Constance, 160 metres higher up?
The menhirs of the Lambert Plateau from Collobrières
A very pleasant loop trail allowing you to visit the menhirs of the Plateau de Lambert, dating from between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago. There is a majestic chestnut tree stump near the forest house. This almost thousand-year-old chestnut tree stump is attributed to Madame de Sévigné, who came to the Plateau Lambert farm to relax and recharge her batteries at the foot of the chestnut trees. It burned down in the 1980s.
The Cap Lardier and Cap Taillat loop
This loop takes you along a narrow, steep and sometimes rugged coastal path, but the turquoise waters and unspoilt wildlife of the two headlands are well worth the detour.
Notre-Dame des Anges
A beautiful hike in the Maures mountains, with the ascent of Notre-Dame des Anges. The 360° panorama includes views of the Hyères islands, the Collobrières valley, the Maures plain and Sainte-Baume.

Le Rayol - Le Canadel, sea and ridges
This is a short loop offering beautiful views of the Mediterranean coast on varied and sometimes challenging terrain.
The trail starts among beautiful villas with sea views, then follows a balcony path above the coastline to a lovely beach, and returns via an old railway line.
This walk is best suited to sure-footed walkers who are not afraid of tackling the climbs right from the start.

This route follows the coastal path along the sea. You can see flamingos and various birds on the old salt marshes.
The Chemin du Bargidon
An easy hike starting from Super Lavandou and following the Chemin du Bargidon. Exceptional views throughout the hike over the bay of Bormes and Le Lavandou, the Hyères islands and even as far as Toulon. When you reach the Route des Crêtes, the view becomes sublime!
The Gaoutabry Dolmen near Notre-Dame-des-Maures
A visit to the Gaoutabry dolmen is a classic outing in the London hinterland. A previously published hike accessed it from the Tamary valley. We went there in February 2016 and March 2018, starting from the village of Notre-Dame des Maures, which still bore the scars of the terrible Pansard flood of January 2014.
Coastal path from Camarat to L'Escalet
An easy hike along the coast between the Camarat lighthouse and L'Escalet on the Saint-Tropez peninsula.
Enjoy beautiful Mediterranean landscapes between pine trees and turquoise water. When you arrive, a refreshing dip at the magnificent Escalet beach will do you the world of good!
Cap Taillat and Cap Lardier from Gigaro beach
To the south of the Saint-Tropez peninsula lies a vast natural area with virtually no housing. Only a few forest tracks and rare paths criss-cross this protected natural site dotted with steep hills and a few valleys where vines flourish. All around, the Mediterranean Sea laps against a preserved shoreline, where a few beaches protected by Cap Lardier and Cap Taillat invite you to take a refreshing break.
Plaine des Mayons - Lac des Escarcets
An easy hike with little elevation gain. A wide variety of landscapes in a wetland area: wooded areas, vineyards, open spaces, rock formations, varied vegetation (beautiful dwarf irises in April). Numerous fords and streams, pleasant in spring.

In the hinterland of Saint-Tropez, a beautiful hike allows you to discover the old town of La Garde-Freinet, beautiful landscapes of heathland and cork oak forests, as well as the Roches Blanches, a rocky outcrop of quartz. Not to mention the Croix des Maures and Fort Freinet, carved into the rock in the Middle Ages.

A family hike that allows you to discover the banks of the Aille and Argens rivers and explore the flora of the communal forest of Les Arcs-sur-Argens

A short, easy walk starting from the Trapan Dam and along the ridges between Bormes and La Londe, with magnificent panoramic views.
Around Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer
A beautiful loop where you can enjoy all the scents of Mediterranean flora and magnificent views throughout the hike. The route has a steep climb at the start, but this is quickly forgotten thanks to the views it offers. Although part of the route is on a tarmac road, this is fine as there is always something to look at.

This easy walk offers beautiful views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on one side and the Estérel and Southern Alps on the other.

A walk through the Var forest ending in a forest of mimosas. Lovely views of the sea.
Le Fenouillet - Château de Hyères starting from La Crau
This hike combines physical activity with culture. It will take us on a journey of discovery through the ruins of Hyères Castle. The local council has installed information panels on the site, allowing us to imagine what life was like in those days. Before that, this beautiful walk will take us to the recently renovated Notre-Dame du Fenouillet Chapel.
Towards the Chartreuse de la Verne
A pleasant hike in the countryside and a visit to the Chartreuse de la Verne.
You can also access this hike by taking the ST Julien path (on the left at the first traffic lights when coming from Toulon). The dam area is no longer accessible by car. Park before the barrier on the right-hand side of the road near a small wood and continue on foot to the dam.
Deffend Trail north of Sainte-Maxime
A walk in the hills above Sainte-Maxime, rewarded with a superb 360° view from the Estérel to the Maures, passing over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and, on a clear day, the Alps.
Vallon du Pont des Fées, paved slanting street and Le Pierredon
A pleasant hike in Grimaud in the hinterland of Saint-Tropez.
The circuit starts near a renovated windmill, then passes near a bridge that was once used as an aqueduct called Pont des Fées. It continues through the beautiful Garde valley, where vineyards, wild olive trees and heath alternate. The return route crosses the old town of Grimaud and passes by the castle.
The Oppidum of Montjean
This circuit will allow you to discover traces of the Ligurian occupation of this area. This dry stone fortress, occupied from the 6th to the 4th century BC, dominates the Bay of Cavalaire from its height of 460m. It offers exceptional views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Maures massif, the Estérel and the Mercantour in the distance.

Circuit in the Massif des Maures, between narrow paths and wide tracks, passing by the Sommet du Bœuf and the Collobrières weather radar.

The tour of Lake Aréna
A magnificent family walk around Lake Aréna, on the banks of the Argens and at the foot of the Rocher de Roquebrune. The flora is interesting: you will find Spanish broom, scorpion broom, cotton cistus, Provence cane, prickly pear, fennel, wood chervil, white bread, false cypress euphorbia, eleven o'clock flowers, radiated anacycles, sage-leaved rockrose, white campion, ravenelle, flax, meadow clover...
Cabredor circuit
This circular is ideal for a lovely family outing. Its largely shaded route offers beautiful views of the Argens, the Barres de Pouaré and the Rocher de Roquebrune.
This circuit also offers the opportunity to climb to the summit of Cabredor and cross the oppidum that occupies it.
The Lambert Plateau via the Vallon de Lambert
I suggest a walk that will take you to the Lambert Plateau on a shaded route along the Verne.
Pierrefeu - La Portanière
A beautiful hike, a little difficult due to the steep inclines, but which leads to splendid panoramic views in the Forêt des Maures.
Le Fédon via the Sauvecanne and Les Vidaux ridges
Thefirst half of this hike is a variation of the Pierrefeu - La Portanière hike published on this website. Take the Chemin de Sauvecanne to reach the southern ridge of the Vallon Loubier. Join the ridge trail and take the Piste du Fédon.
The return journey presents no particular difficulties and the scenery is magnificent.
On the cliff top between Bonporteau and Le Dattier
This is an easy walk with beautiful views of the Mediterranean coastline and the Îles du Levant, Port Cros and Porquerolles. It is a rare walk along this stretch of coastline that is not covered in concrete.
Grimaud Heritage Loop
Between nature and town, this loop takes in Grimaud and its must-sees: the Chapelle Saint-Roch, the Pont des Fées and the Vallon de la Garde on the outskirts of the village, the church of Saint-Michel, the village's typical narrow streets, the Tour de l'Horloge, the Chapelle des Pénitents and the Château de Grimaud.
Pic de San Peïre
Superbe vue des environs, notamment sur le Golfe de Saint-Tropez.
Between sails and old stones in Saint-Tropez
This walk begins on the bustling quays of Saint-Tropez, where the hulls of boats dance to the rhythm of the reflections. We walk along the jetty to the lighthouse, a red sentinel facing the horizon, before returning along the seafront, between sunny terraces and pastel-coloured façades. Then, you climb up to the old town, with its cobbled streets, flower-filled balconies and memories of a fishing village that has become legendary. An easy circular loop, between sea splashes and Provençal memories, ideal for strolling along the water's edge and through time.
Ramatuelle, to the rhythm of cicadas and old stones
Nestled in the hills above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the village of Ramatuelle offers a timeless escape. This walk invites you to stroll through its narrow streets, lined with houses with ochre facades and pastel shutters, where every turn reveals a shaded square, a discreet fountain or a panorama of the Var hills.Along the way, you will discover the Church of Notre-Dame, the medieval ramparts and a few artisan workshops that perpetuate the Provençal spirit. The song of the cicadas accompanies your steps, while the scents of jasmine and fig trees awaken your senses. An ideal getaway for lovers of heritage, tranquillity and southern charm.
Through the narrow streets and memories of Pierrefeu-du-Var
Nestled against a rocky peak, Pierrefeu-du-Var reveals itself as a Provençal gem at the gateway to the Massif des Maures. This picturesque village invites you to stroll through its narrow streets, where every stone seems to whisper history. The route naturally leads to the site of Sainte-Croix, the spiritual and historical cradle of the commune.
Vidauban golf course tower
This is a short tour that can be completed in an hour and allows you to recharge your batteries in nature. Starting from the Vidauban athletics stadium, after a few kilometres on a tarmac road, you will experience your first change of scenery with a ford that can be more or less difficult to cross depending on the season. Then you follow the golf course fence, first on a tarmac road and then, after a few hundred metres, on a very rough track, but the golf course offers magnificent views. Leaving the golf course, you enter the woods on small tracks, then cross another ford before reaching the Route du Plan de la Tour, after crossing another ford and the bridge over the Aille. The route ends by taking another grassy, shaded path.
