Park in the car park opposite the former Loosthal Forest House (now the GORNA wildlife rescue centre).
(S/E) Take the narrow Loosthal nature trail from the car park.

(1) Go past the first flight of steps, walk past the pink sandstone outcrop to reach the lovely viewpoint over the old village and the Château de la Petite Pierre.
(2) Continue along the Loosthal nature trail and then, as it continues, the Heidekoepfel trail towards the Imsthal inn. Ignore the path on the right at the start of the Heidekoepfel bend and the one on the right as you come out of the bend.
Continue straight ahead for 50m, then at the next junction, take the forest path on the right.
(3) Head towards the Muehlkopf massif along the grassy path.
(4) Reach the rock and viewpoint at Muehlkoppf (the rock in the protected area is no longer accessible), go past it and continue along the circular route to join the tarmac forest road at Breitschloss.
(5) Take this road to the right for about 400 m to reach the Breitschloss hut (shelter and picnic area).

(6) Take the Nonnenkopf forest path on the left for 100 m to reach a junction.
(7) Continue straight on towards the Bélier rock (viewpoint and bench).
(8) Return to the crossroads, then turn right onto the forest path and continue to the next junction (signposted).
(9) Continue to the right to the Rocher du Saut du Chien (beautiful viewpoint and bench).
(10) Return to the path.
(9) Continue to the right for about 50 metres before the tarmac forest road.
(11) Head down to the right along the winding forest path signposted ‘Loosthal car park’. Continue to the junction at the hamlet of Lach (the waterhole) and turn right.

(12) Take the Loosthal nature trail and continue until you reach the next forest track.

(13) Continue straight ahead for about 400m until you reach the Y-junction, then turn left to reach the Johannisthal Rock (bench and view of Hunebourg Castle).
(14) Retrace your steps and take the path on the right signposted Hirschfels (Yellow Ring). About ten metres before the WP (13) turn right and after about 100 metres you will reach the Hirschfels Rock and Gloriette (shelter and picnic area).

(15) Retrace your steps and continue to the right to the Finkenstein Rock and then the Loosthal Rock (lovely view).
(16) Continue along the sweeping bend to join the tarmac forest road at the bottom of a second flight of steps and turn right.
(17) Take the tarmac forest road to the right for about 100 m, then go down the steps on the left.
(1) Continue to the right along the forest path to reach the car park (S/E).
