Lincolnshire Coast Path - Boston to Wrangle

A beach walk from Boston to Wrangle. An alternative route to the coastal defence banks that provides a change to the marsh views. Open flat farmland, tiny hamlets, large churches and plenty of pubs along the way. Not strictly part of a coast path but this route roughly follows the coast of medieval times when Wrangle boasted the third largest harbour along this section of coastline.

Southwell - The Minster, Bramley Apple, Workhouse, Byron and Charles 1st

The historic Nottinghamshire Minster town of Southwell is the seat of the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham. The Minster is globally important for the exceptional quality carvings ‘The Leaves of Southwell’. The town is famous for the original Bramley Apple tree which was sown in 1809, the fact that Charles 1st spent his final night in the town before he was taken to London for execution. Lord Byron also lived here. The Workhouse on the edge of town is a popular National Trust property.
Moulton Marsh and The Welland from Fosdyke Bridge

This easy short walk along the Coronation Channel has many water birds to observe, Crested Grebe, Ducks, Swans, Herons sometimes Cormorants. Springfields is a major shopping outlet has all the facilities, coffee shops and lovely gardens to take a short break.
Coronation Channel was created in 1953 following major flooding of Spalding following heavy rains rising River Welland coupled with a very high tide, so this relief channel was dug.

This circular walk of 7.3 miles starts & ends at the carpark behind St Bartholomew's Church, Kneesall NG22 0AD. It includes pasture and crop fields, and some woodland. Fine elevated views can be seen of the undulating countryside, especially near the Golden Hill trig point. Interesting features include the village of Laxton - the last village in the UK to farm using a medieval strip system. Nearby are Motte & Bailey earthworks.

Starting from Ludford, this dog-friendly walk joins the Viking Way long distance footpath and leaves the village past the old 101 Squadron airfield, skirting the edge of the Deserted Medieval Village at Wykeham and leaving the Viking Way. Onwards and upwards to Great Tows, the highest point of the walk where there are fine views of the Wolds top and often a brisk breeze blowing.
Hallaton, Glooston and Rolleston from Tugby

This lengthy Leicestershire walk visits the rolling landscape to the south-east of Tugby to reach the village of Hallaton. The route turns west following the Leicestershire Round footpath to Glooston from where a return to the starts is made through Noseley and Rolleston. The walk follows generally well-marked paths and bridleways.
Round Louth

The 14 mile Round Louth Walk circles the historic market town, journeying into the surrounding countryside of the Wolds and Marsh. The route is waymarked by a blue spire walk logo. Although the full walk is 14 miles long, there are shorter circular routes using various public footpaths back into town if you don't want to do it all in one day.
