Taddington CP walks

This is a glorious walk in the Peak District National Park, starting on the Monsal Trail, before heading down to walk upstream along the river Wye in the limestone gorge of Chee Dale, then heading over the top of Worm Hill before heading back to the car park via the moss covered landscape of Monks Dale.

A gentle circular walk through 5 dales in the White Peak starting at Tideswell visiting Tideswell Dale, Miller's Dale, Water-cum-Jolly Dale, Cressbrook Dale and Tansley Dale. As well as seeing the beauty of these dales you pass two historic mills (Litton Mill & Cressbrook Mill now converted to flats) which were at the forefront of Britain's Industrial Revolution.Tideswell is a bustling Peak District village with plenty of amenities and makes a perfect place to celebrate the completion of this walk.

Wander via field paths and country lanes through the villages of Flagg and Chelmorton, returning on the High Peak Trail. A shortcut along the Pennine Bridleway, omitting Chelmorton village, cuts a mile off the distance.

Follow flower-lined green lanes to two limestone villages, and sample a short stretch of the High Peak Trail. Some gentle climbs, and muddy ground may be encountered after wet weather.

A rewarding hike via a scenic hilltop to a pretty village and a Norman Castle site in the Dove Valley.
