Timberland walks

This Lincolnshire walk visits two villages with an array of interesting things to see including a statue to George III and a sculpture of a cow made by children from old farm implements.

This Lincolnshire walk is somewhat different in that walkers can do some route finding for themselves. This is because Chambers Farm Wood has several self-guided, waymarked routes that can be used to vary my preferred route described below. Part of the walk follows quiet country lanes and traverses typical Lincolnshire countryside.

Exploring the valleys of the Rivers Bain and Waring, with an uphill section that's worth the view!

Follow the Bain Valley, cross Roman Roads and explore wide verge lined lanes before a strenuous ride up to the Bluestone Heath Road. Take your time – the views are worth it!

A beach walk from Boston to Wrangle. An alternative route to the coastal defence banks that provides a change to the marsh views. Open flat farmland, tiny hamlets, large churches and plenty of pubs along the way. Not strictly part of a coast path but this route roughly follows the coast of medieval times when Wrangle boasted the third largest harbour along this section of coastline.

The 14 mile Round Louth Walk circles the historic market town, journeying into the surrounding countryside of the Wolds and Marsh. The route is waymarked by a blue spire walk logo. Although the full walk is 14 miles long, there are shorter circular routes using various public footpaths back into town if you don't want to do it all in one day.

This route between two of the areas most renowned beauty spots, begins with a steady climb up the eastern rise of the Wolds but ends with a rewarding downhill return with spectacular views.

The terrain of this Lincolnshire walk on the outskirts of Louth varies considerably and includes parkland, meadows, the secluded Welton Vale and windswept heights of Jack's Furze reached by a permissive footpath that gives the best views of the entire walk.
