A fashionable spa town with a history built on its saline springs, Leamington Spa’s beautiful town centre is known for its Regency architecture, wide boulevards and award-winning gardens. First following the Grand Union Canal and then the River Leam, this trail takes you into the surrounding countryside to the village of Offchurch. On your route you can explore the Leam Valley Local Nature Reserve and Newbold Comyn, as well as the renowned Jephson Gardens. Branch out from this fashionable spa town to follow the Grand Union Canal to the village of Offchurch and back via Newbold Comyn.

An interesting and varied walk along the stream/river valleys of the River Glyme and a tributary, and through the park of a country house with several eccentric features. On the way, you can stop at a nature reserve of natural Cotswold limestone grassland. The first half of the walk follows Shakespeare's Way.

This circular walk combines the delights of both town and country walking. Starting in the Coughton you will enjoy riverside paths, country lanes and gentle farmland. Just over half distance you go down the attractive Alcester High Street. There is also the chance to visit Coughton Court, an interesting and attractive National Trust property. This easy circular town walk can be completed in under two hours, but it is better to take at least a half day, so that you can explore some of the monuments, historical sites along the way, linger in the attractive parks, visit the museum and cafe in the Pump Rooms and enjoy the tranquillity of the Grand Union Canal and River Leam.
