The Lambourn Valley Way is a delightful 32km (20 mile) mile walk, from the Ridgeway at Uffington Castle to Newbury. This circular walk goes from Lambourn to the Ridgeway past Ashdown House, along the Ridgeway past the ancient monuments of Wayland's Smithy and Uffington Castle, and returns to Lambourn along the Lambourn Valley Way. The route "The Lambourn Valley Way, from Lambourn to Newbury (with shorter options)" describes the continuation of this walk to Newbury.

A lovely walk with much variety and interest : wild flower meadow, Watts Bank Nature Reserve, superb views of the Eastbury Downs and Lambourn nestled in the Lambourn Valley, the pretty little village of Eastbury, which has many buildings of historic interest and the Lambourn River, a seasonal chalk stream.
This walk goes up (and down) several hills and can be slippery underfoot after rain.

This route describes the second part of this walk, from Lambourn to Newbury, including an optional visit to Donnington Castle. It mostly follows the bank of the River Lambourn or the route of the dismantled Lambourn Valley Railway.
