Woodcote walks

A very pleasant walk exploring the attractive woods and landscape in and around the village of Checkendon in South Oxfordshire.

This circular walk brings you to visit Checkendon area via woodlands.

A fairly short walk with a steady climb to start and a shorter steeper climb towards the end.

An easy walk with no steep gradients. Hailey – Forest Row – Ipsden – Hailey.

A long a steady climb over the second quarter of the walk, thereafter an easy walk back.

This circular walk brings you to visit Goring Heath area through woodlands and via a valley bottom.

This circular walk is stile free. There is a steepening climb to the top of Streatley Hill and a steep descent from Lardon Chase.

A scenic walk with far-reaching views over the Thames Valley. Two short, steep climbs and a longer one, less steep to the top of the escarpment. The path in the wood may be muddy in places.

A medium length walk with a high stile : Stoke Row – Ipsden Heath – Stoke Row.

A hilly walk from the River Thames through bluebell woods to the hospitable village of Theale in the Kennet

This is a stile-free circular walk around Pangbourne countryside and along River Thames.

This walk has a long climb to the high point above Sulham Wood with lovely views across the Thames Valley then downhill to the lock followed by level walking along the river.

This walk gives fine views of the Berkshire Downs and the Oxfordshire plain and takes in the Maharajah’s Well in Stoke Row.
